Good Works Talent

Good Works Talent is an accounting and finance recruiting firm built by a former talent acquisition leader who spent 14 years hiring inside public accounting. We reach experienced tax, audit and accounting professionals who are doing good work elsewhere and will never see your opening on a job board. Firms engage us three ways: search, retained or contingent, when a role has to be filled now; RPO, embedding our recruiters inside your HR or operations team; and the Talent Pipeline Build, a 30-day implementation that leaves your firm owning the pipeline system itself.

The Talent Pipeline Build Service Description

The problem
Most accounting firms hire reactively. Someone resigns or a busy season looms, the role gets posted, and the firm waits to see who applies. The professionals worth hiring — the tax senior who is quietly excellent, the audit manager three years into a role they have outgrown — are not reading job boards. They are doing their work, and will never lift their heads to notice your opening.

Firms compensate by investing in LinkedIn Recruiter, employer branding and a polished careers page, then wonder why the pipeline stays thin. Those investments make a firm easy to find. They do nothing to reach someone who is not looking.

The result is a cycle we see every year: firms reach out in September and October about a busy season that begins in January, needing people who take three to six months to recruit and longer to become productive. Meanwhile the internal HR generalist, who also owns benefits and onboarding, is sorting genuine applicants from a rising volume of fabricated ones.

What we do differently
Good Works Talent was built by a former talent acquisition leader who spent 14 years hiring inside public accounting, most recently as Director of Talent Acquisition at a Top 70 public accounting and consulting firm. We approach a hiring problem the way an internal team would, with the outbound discipline that team rarely has capacity to build.

Every engagement begins with a market map: who the qualified professionals actually are in a defined radius and specialty, not who happens to be on the market this week. From there, my team runs sustained, personalized outreach to people who are otherwise content where they are.

Firms engage us three ways. Search is the traditional model, retained or contingent, when a role has to be filled now. RPO embeds our recruiters inside your HR or operations team, adding the capacity or specialized recruiting capability you do not currently have in-house. And the Talent Pipeline Build is a 30-day implementation that hands the system to you — market map, messaging, outreach sequences and applicant tracking integration — so your firm owns a continuing pipeline instead of restarting a search every time someone resigns.

That third option is what most separates us from this category. Agencies are built to keep the pipeline; ours is built to give it to you. There is no placement inside a Pipeline Build to guarantee, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we commit to is the scope, delivered inside 30 days, and a hiring capability that belongs to your firm afterward.

Who it is for
Small and mid-sized firms, including those shifting toward advisory work, where the hire is about business judgment and client trust as much as accounting acumen. If you are competing for experienced professionals against firms with far larger recruiting budgets, proactive outreach is the advantage available to you.
