Compass was developed by our firm Abdo as we were frustrated with the reporting from our practice management system. Is anyone really thrilled with their practice management reporting? We hired a data firm to begin the process and then hired the gentleman we were working with to be a full-time data analytics leader for the firm. Our first iteration of Compass was completed in 2021. Our intention was to simply have a data analytics solution for the firm but when our managing partner showed it to other managing partners, they were interested. That began our journey of marketing the Compass solution for other CPA firms. To date, we have implemented Compass in over 100 firms, many of which are Boomer firms.
Compass simply pulls the time and billing system data into our software (powered by PowerBI) to display the time and billing data in drillable, visually pleasing, real time dashboards.
We have met with over 300 firms in the past few years and they all have common challenges:
