Truss

Truss is the more-in-one tax workflow platform, carrying a return from client intake through workpaper assembly, preparation, and final delivery in one system. Clients upload documents, sign, and pay through a link with no account or password to create, and firms get automatic document recognition, organized workpapers, a choice of AI prep options, e-signature with KBA for 8879s, K-1 splitting, and payment collection without moving files between tools.

Max AI Product Description

Max AI is Truss’s AI tax research assistant, designed to work directly within a firm’s existing tax workflow. It can help with tax research, return analysis, document lookups, planning questions, and client email drafting without requiring users to leave Truss. Research Mode can also be used for deeper analysis involving current tax rules, IRS guidance, or case law.

Max AI is a tax assistant that already knows the client. It’s automatically scoped to only the relevant client or entity; pulling from the tasks, files, and documents already attached. No re-uploading returns, no pasting context, no cross-contamination between clients. Every conversation saves as a searchable thread tied to the client.

Because Max works from the client context already maintained in Truss, users can ask it to identify unusual items or year-over-year changes in a return, suggest planning considerations, search connected Gmail or Outlook messages for relevant client context, and turn responses into editable client emails. Client data is isolated by firm and user, encrypted at rest and in transit, and not used to train AI models.
